Overview

Recurring profiles allow you to automate ongoing donations by setting up scheduled payments for a constituent. This guide walks you through how to create, manage, and update recurring profiles within Donor Management.

Step 1: Create a Recurring Profile

You can create a recurring profile in two ways:

Option 1: From the Constituent Profile

• Open the constituent’s profile
• Use the quick action buttons in the top-right corner
• Select Recurring Profile to begin

• 

Option 2: From the Gifts Tab

• Navigate to the Gifts tab within the constituent profile
• Click the Recurring Profile button

• 

Step 2: Enter Required Details

When creating a recurring profile, you’ll need to complete the following:

• Fund (required) – must be associated with every recurring profile
• Payment amount
• Payment type (e.g., credit card, ACH, etc.)
• Start date and (optional) end date

Step 3: Add Optional Details

You can enhance tracking and reporting by including:

• Campaign
• Appeal
• Designation
• Solicitor

These fields can be added during creation or edited later as needed.

Step 4: Set Preferences

Customize how the recurring donation is handled:

• Adjust payment amount and type
• Set receipting preferences based on donor or organizational needs

Step 5: Save the Recurring Profile

Once all details are complete:

• Click Save
• The recurring profile will now be linked to the constituent and tracked in the system

Step 6: Manage Recurring Profiles

You can manage recurring profiles in two main areas:

From the Constituent Profile

• View and edit individual recurring profiles
• Update payment details or preferences

• 

From the Main Gifts Section

• Navigate to the Gifts tab in the left toolbar
• View and manage all recurring profiles

• Add new recurring profiles as needed

  

Step 7: Understand Profile Status

Recurring profiles are automatically categorized based on their dates:

• Active – within the defined start and end date range
• Inactive – outside of the date range or completed
