SmartLists options allow you to create a number of customized criteria fields that can be used to further define your SmartList results. These options are specific to each SmartList and do not carry over from one SmartList to another.
Locations allow you to define customized locations that can be used as criteria within your SmartList. Locations are specifically defined points that will be used to compare against address information in the Panorama Donor Management tool. You start by defining a specific location based on a zip code, a point on a map, or an address. You can create up to 4 different locations. After you create these locations, you can choose them as Constraints in your SmartList. For example, you want to find all constituents within 50 miles of your office. You start by defining a location as “Our Office” and you enter the address of your office. Then in your SmartList choose the Constraint “Our Office” and the Donor Management tool will ask you to enter the amount of miles. Enter in 50 miles and the results of your SmartList will only include constituents within 50 miles (based on the constituent’s primary address). You can also add these locations as columns in your SmartList to see the specific number of miles the constituent is from your office.
Time Periods allow you to create customized time periods to use as criteria in your SmartLists. For example, you want to find all constituents who have given over $100 when a specific campaign was run. You start by creating a time period. You can name the time period “Our Campaign” and define the date range as custom dates. Include the specific dates of your campaign. Then in your SmartList choose the Constraint “Our Campaign Total Donations”. This will allow you to enter a total amount of donations.
The total of these donations will only take into consideration the donations received within the time period you defined. You can also add the Our Campaign Total Donations column to your SmartList to see the specific total amount of donations received within your time period.
