The Volunteer Portal is a public website where volunteers can view and sign up for engagements within your organization. You can customize the portal layout using the tools on this page.
Volunteers can browse the portal without logging in, or log in for a personalized view. Use the Public View and Logged In View icons next to the Preview button to toggle between the two. You can create a customized layout for each.
The Preview button shows how your portal looks on mobile, tablet, or desktop, helping optimize the user experience. The View Live button opens the live portal in a new browser window.
Below the Preview button, the Volunteer Portal URL shows the web address volunteers can use. You can modify the ending of the URL by clicking the pencil icon and saving changes with the check icon. If you change a URL that has already been shared, notify your volunteers.
Example of Live View:
The portal layout is built using rows, each containing one or more widgets. Widgets provide specific features or information. The top widget is a required image banner and cannot be moved or removed.
Hovering over a row displays:
Orange outline: row area, with icons to delete the row or move it up/down.
Blue outline: widget area, with a delete icon and additional options depending on widget type.
You can add a new row using + Add Row, choosing a one-, two-, or three-widget row. Widgets are defined by clicking Choose Type in the lower right corner of each widget.
Available widget types include:
Custom Text: add text
Image: add images
Engagement Search: filter and list engagements
Login: display login or user status
Agency Signup: enter agency info
My Favorites: list favorite engagements
My Engagements: list active engagements for the logged-in user
All changes to rows and widgets are saved automatically.
