There are only a few reasons why bids may not be placed:
- You may have accidentally missed clicking the "Confirm Bid" button. Once a bid value is entered, you are asked to "Confirm Your Bid". Bids are not placed if they are not confirmed.
- Further input was needed from you prior to confirming your bid. This may be the case when one or more of the following is true:
- Your bid did not meet or exceed the next required Minimum bid. In this case, you are offered a chance to enter a higher bid.
- Your bid was exceptionally high. For exceptionally high bids, the bidder is asked twice to confirm the bid.Someone may have outbid you before you clicked the Confirm Bid button. In this case, the next Minimum bid has changed while you were bidding. You are offered a chance to enter a higher bid.
Additional Notes:
- The Reserve Price is the lowest price at which the item may be sold. For items with a Reserve Price, if you are the first person to bid over the reserve, your leading bid will be brought up to the Reserve Price. Reserves are not viewable to the public. Items which have a reserve price are denoted by the words: "item has a Reserve" prior to the 1st bid, or "reserve not met"/"reserve met" once bidding has started.
- Once you place a bid, you'll be sent an email confirming your bid automatically.
- You may double-check if your bid has been placed by viewing the bid history for that item. Click on Bid History.
- You may also double-check if your bid has been placed by going to your My Items page. When you bid upon an item, a Watch is automatically created. You will be alerted via email whenever there is bidding activity on that item.
- To stop bid alert emails, you may remove that item from My Items page. Note that this does not delete any bids placed, it simply stops bid alerts from being sent and removes the item from the list on your My Items page.
