Bidders: How to Request a Bid Retraction

We strongly encourage all bidders to be 100% confident in their decision to place a bid. However, unavoidable circumstances can happen, so we let the non-profit organization decide whether or not to allow a bid to be retracted or removed from their item.

Note: If you are using a mobile device, you will need to choose View standard version of site at the bottom of the webpage before following these directions.

As a bidder, you must reach out to the organization to ask to have your bid retracted. BiddingforGood cannot accept bid retraction requests from bidders.

To make the request to the organization:

Step 1. Go to the Item that you bid on (on the standard/desktop version of the auction site).

Step 2. Access the Contact Option

Depending on the auction interface you’re viewing:

• Old Interface: Click “Ask a Question About this Item.”

• New Interface: Click the “Ask a Question” tab on the item’s page.

Step 3. In the message field, include the following details:

• Your full name

• Your username (the one used to place the bid)

• The item number

• The bid amount

• A brief explanation of why you’re requesting to retract the bid

Step 4. Send Your Message

• Once you’ve entered all required details, click Submit or Send.

• Your message will be sent directly to the organization hosting the auction.

• You’ll receive a confirmation that your message was successfully sent.
