Summary
As part of our commitment to continuously update and enhance our Fundraising system, we recently made the following enhancements to the Artez Application:

Purchase Items – Added “Cover the Processing Fee” for Purchases
Event administrators can now enable the option for participants to cover the processing fee during the purchase of items. Previously, this option was available only for donations. This enhancement extends the same flexibility to purchases made through the Purchase Items Template. Benefits include:
- Flexible event configuration
- Expanded fee options
This feature allows event administrators to offer participants the option to cover the processing fee when purchasing items, just like they can for donations. Once enabled in Event Settings, participants will see a checkbox during checkout asking if they’d like to cover the fee. If selected, the processing fee is automatically calculated and added to the total payment.
To activate this:
- Navigate to the event’s Event Settings.
- Under the options: “Allow user to cover the processing fee” enable the Purchase checkbox.
- Save the settings.
Once enabled for the event, participants purchasing tickets or items and/or making a donation will be given the option to cover the processing fees for their transaction.
Additional notes
- This setting is available in both English and French events.
- It only applies to items using the Purchase Items Template.
- The setting is unchecked by default, giving full control to the event admin.
- The option appears only if the admin enables it for purchases.
