How are monthly donors receipted?
FrontStream will issue a consolidated annual electronic tax receipt to each monthly donor that donated through an Artez event or donation form where tax receipts were enabled (see question 2). Annual tax receipts are issued in February of the year following the year of giving (e.g. 2023 monthly donor receipts are issued in February 2024).
What do I need to do to have FrontStream issue Artez monthly donor tax receipts? For your donors to receive their annual tax receipts, you must have the following enabled:
- Active Tax Receipt Bundle
- Active Tax Receipt Template
- Monthly Donor Tax Receipt email(s) under all events accepting monthly donations.
How do I know if I have an Active tax receipt bundle and tax receipt template?
- Click on the Configuration tab and click Tax Receipting in the left menu.
- Open the Primary Receipt Bundle (if you are using multiple bundles, repeat this process with each)
- Ensure that you have both an Active tax receipt block (with lots of numbers) and Active tax receipt template (status: Active)
How do I enable the monthly donor tax receipt emails?
The monthly tax receipt email will need to be enabled on all events accepting monthly donations.
- Open the event accepting monthly donations and click Emails in the left menu.
- Enable all applicable Monthly Tax Receipt Emails by checking the checkbox.
- If a warning triangle appears beside the email title, click on the title to open, and view the email. Then scroll down and attach a receipt template to the email (in French and English if applicable). Click Submit and return to the previous screen to enable the email.
What do I do if I do not wish to send annual tax receipts?
- Disable monthly tax receipt emails.
- Open the event accepting monthly donations and click Emails in the left menu.
- Disable all applicable Monthly Tax Receipt Emails Set your monthly donation plan to do not receipt.
- Click on the Configuration tab and then click Monthly Donations
- Click Edit beside the selected plan.
- Click the Do not receipt checkbox and click Submit button.
