About the Bid Extension Feature

The Bid Extension feature allows bidding to continue in 5-minute increments past the scheduled closing time on high-interest items.

This feature extends the auction closing time on an item by 5 minutes each time a new bid is placed during the last 5 minutes of an auction. This assures that all bidders will have the opportunity to counter any last-second bids on an item.

The item’s closing time will continue to extend in 5-minute increments as long as there is continued bidding. The item will automatically close when there is a 5-minute extension period with no new bids.

How to Enable it

To activate the Bid Extension feature, do the following:

1. Go to Event> Set Up> Auction Features
2. Scroll down to the Advanced Features section and check off the box next to Bid Extension.
3. Scroll down and hit Update Auction Features
