How to Place a Bid (New BFG UI)

Before you start, make sure you are registered and logged in as a bidder, and that you have a credit card on file.

Step 1.To place a bid, first view an item that is eligible for bidding. If you are not yet signed in, you will have to click the “Sign in to Bid” button to proceed

Step 2. Type in the desired amount in the bid box.

It will automatically show the saved card on your bidding account. You will also have an option to "Add New Credit Card" if you would like to use another card that is not yet saved on your bidder account.

Step 3. Select the type of bidding you would like to use.

Step 4. Click "Place a Bid".

On the Confirm Bid page, you will be given an option if you would like to cover the fees associated with the item. If yes, you can check the box

Step 5. If you are good with your Bid Details, click "Confirm Bid".

You will know right away if you are in the lead, or if another bidder's maximum (proxy) bid is still higher than yours.

If you are in the lead, you will receive an email letting you know if you've been outbid so you can bid again!

What if there is no option to place a bid? 

Please check for the following:

1. You do not have a credit card on file for your bidder account.
2. The item is Live Event only, which indicates the item is only available at the Live Event/Gala.
3. The item is a buy it now only, meaning there is no bidding on this item.
4. The item or auction online start date has not begun yet.
