Let's Learn:
Images in the new BiddingForGood interface have different size and format requirements than the classic UI. Using the wrong dimensions is the most common reason images appear blurry, stretched, or cropped.
Recommended Image Dimensions by Location
| Image location | Recommended size | Max file size | Supported formats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hero Image | 1500 × 550 px (landscape) | 5 MB | JPG, PNG, GIF |
| Auction Banner | 980 x 100 px (landscape) | 5 MB | JPG, PNG, GIF |
| Auction item images | 800 × 600 px or larger (4:3 ratio preferred) | 5 MB | JPG, PNG |
| Organization / sponsor logo | 400 × 200 px (horizontal logo works best) | 2 MB | JPG, PNG (transparent PNG recommended) |
| Donor / bidder profile image | 200 × 200 px (square) | 2 MB | JPG, PNG |
Tip: Images are displayed responsively and will scale down on mobile devices. Always start with the largest recommended size for sharpest results.
Why Images Look Blurry or Stretched
Wrong aspect ratio: If your banner image is square or portrait-oriented, it will be cropped or stretched to fit the horizontal banner slot. Use a wide, landscape image (roughly 3:1 ratio) for the banner.
Image is too small: Uploading a 400 × 150 px image and having it displayed at 1600 × 600 px will always appear blurry. Start with a high-resolution source image.
HEIC / HEIF format: Photos taken on iPhones are sometimes in HEIC format, which is not supported. Convert to JPG or PNG before uploading. On a Mac: open in Preview > File > Export > select JPEG.

Common Questions
Q: My image uploaded fine but looks cropped on the live page. How do I fix it?
A: Use the reposition tool after uploading. In the banner editor, drag the image to show the portion you want visible. If you need a specific region always visible, place the focal point in the center of your source image before uploading.
Q: Can I use a GIF for animated content?
A: Animated GIFs are supported for item images but not recommended for banners. Large animated GIFs can slow page load for bidders.
