Let's Learn:
The new BiddingForGood interface uses a different homepage layout than the classic interface. This guide covers image requirements, where to find customization controls, and how to preview your page correctly before your auction opens.
Image Requirements for the New UI
Uploading images that don't match the new UI's dimensions is the most common cause of blurry, cropped, or stretched images. Use the sizes below for best results.
| Image type | Recommended dimensions | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hero / Banner image | 1200 × 400 px (minimum width 980 px) | Displayed as the full-width image at the top of your auction homepage. Images narrower than 980 px will appear stretched. Use a landscape (wide) image — tall or square images will be cropped. |
| Auction item images | 800 × 600 px or any 4:3 ratio | Items display in a card grid. Images that are not close to a 4:3 ratio will be letter-boxed or cropped. For best results, square images (1:1) also work well. |
| Sponsor / donor logos | 300 × 150 px (max 1 MB) | Logos are displayed in the sponsor block at the bottom of the homepage. Transparent PNG files work best to avoid white-box artifacts. |
| Organization logo | 300 × 100 px | Appears in the header. Horizontal/wide logos work better than tall or square ones. |
File formats accepted: .jpg, .png, .gif
Maximum file size: Images larger than 1024 × 1024 px are automatically resized. For best control over how images render, resize before uploading using any image editor (Canva, Google Photos, Preview on Mac, or Photos on Windows all work).
Troubleshooting blurry or stretched images
Image looks blurry: Your original image is too small and is being scaled up. Use a higher-resolution source image.
Image appears cropped (top/bottom cut off): Your image is too tall. Use a wider, shorter image for the hero slot.
Item images look stretched: Your item images are not close to a 4:3 ratio. Crop them to roughly 800 × 600 before uploading.
Sponsor logo has a white box behind it: Upload a .png file with a transparent background instead of a .jpg.
Where to Find Customization Controls
Several settings that were in different locations in the classic interface have moved in the new UI.
| What you want to change | Where to find it in the new UI |
|---|---|
| Hero image / banner | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Hero Image |
| Brand colors (button color, accent color) | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Colors & Branding |
| Organization logo | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Logo |
| Sponsor logos and tiers | Donors > Sponsorship Center |
| Social media links | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Social Media — links connect to your organization's social accounts, not the event URL. Enter full URLs (e.g., https://www.instagram.com/yourorg). |
| "View All Items" link visibility | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Display Options — note: changes may take up to 10 minutes to reflect on the live page. |
| Coming Soon page content | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Coming Soon |
| Fundraising thermometer | Event > Homepage > Edit Homepage > Thermometer — the thermometer updates based on confirmed donations and closed items, not real-time bids. |
Tip: If you do not see a "Colors" or "Banner" option in your menu, make sure you have first created and activated a homepage. Go to Event > Homepage > Create Homepage if no homepage exists yet.
Preview vs. Live Page
The Preview button in Auction Manager shows you how your homepage will appear to visitors. A few things to know:
Preview reflects your most recently saved changes. Always click Save before previewing.
If your live auction page looks different from the preview, try clearing your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) and reloading the live URL.
Sponsor and color changes can take up to 15 minutes to appear on the live page after saving.
If the live page still shows outdated content after 30 minutes, contact support with a screenshot of both the preview and the live page.
Note: The Preview button is currently under enhancement and may still display the old interface. Please rest assured that we’re actively working to ensure this feature functions as expected.
